If you are looking for a fun standalone with fairytale tropes, fun banter, and fast-paced plot, I highly recommend this book. The world building and magic systems are nothing original, but the well-placed twists keep you interested. Its okay to fear what tomorrow may bring. This is a classic story set in a fairytale world with nothing new to add to the genre, however, the plot was fast paced, the characters are memorable and leave you wanting more, and the banter is great fun. She never stops being herself, though, and that was another message I adored: its okay to be afraid.
